Occupational Hazard IX: A Sign From Above

Gabe

I recently ran into some new comics online that really lit my fire. I have added them to the links page, so be sure to check them out. Of particular note is Nothing Better by Tyler Page.

Lately I have been finding myself increasingly engrossed in the American underground comic scene. I've always been a big fan of R. Crumb's work, and I recently picked up his interpretation of the life of Franz Kafka, along with Julie Doucet's My New York Diary and a beautiful hardback copy of Will Eisner's A Contract With God. If you haven't read any of these, I highly encourage you to check them out. They are demonstrative of the kinds of meaningful stories that comics can tell once you mentally side-step the complimentary-color tights and KA-BOOMing of stereotypical super hero comics. And they're certainly much better than the crap you're reading here at Soft Reset.

I know you all can't live without my heart-warming rants, but unfortunately this terrestrial organism must now enter 8-hour hibernation.
